Fleet Reserve Association Essay Contest

Due: December 4, 2020

Award: $75-$5,000

Additional Requirements: Must submit a 350 word essay about “The Bill of Rights and Me.”  If you do not have a sponsoring member, you can submit your Cover Sheet and essay to Ms.Gonzalez at Brenda.Gonzalez@sweetwaterschools.org by 9AM on December4th .  Applications received after 9AM will be the student’s responsibility to submit to the local Fleet Reserve Association.

Generation Google Scholarship
Due: December 4, 2020
Award:  $10,000
Criteria: Open to seniors who plan to attend 4 year college/university full time in Fall 2021. Must plan to study computer science or computer engineering or a closely related technical field. Must have a strong academic record and financial need. Must exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.

Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships
DueDecember 5, 2020
Award:  $5,000
Criteria: Open to seniors; must be a U.S.  citizen or permanent resident. Must have demonstrated ongoing commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer service impacting hunger in the U.S. within the past 12 months.

Hispanic Heritage Foundation Scholarship 

Due: December 6th, 2020

Award: $3,500

Criteria: Open to current 12th graders of Hispanic Heritage( includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines.) Must be a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under DACA.  Must have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 7.5 on 10.0 scale. Must enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2021-2022. If selected, attendance to virtual regional awards ceremony is mandatory

Make the U Hispanic Heritage Foundation Awards
Due:  December 6, 2020
Award: $100 and  $1,000 awards
Criteria: Must be a rising senior of Latino/Hispanic heritage. Must have maintained academic excellence, dedicated service in the community and demonstrated leadership.  Must have a minimum 3.0 gpa, be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident or DACA eligible and Must plan on attending college or university for the Fall of 2021.

Science Ambassador Scholarship
Due: December 14, 2020
Award: $40,000/ Full tuition
Criteria:  Open to female seniors planning to major in a STEM field and planning to attend college full time in Fall 2021. Must submit a video on a given topic.

Burger King Scholars Program – General Track Scholarship
Due:  December 15, 2020
Award:  $1,000 – $50,000
Criteria:  Open to seniors with a minimum 2.50 gpa. Must plan to enroll full time in a 2 or 4 year college  in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico.

Burger King Scholars Program – Employee-Based Track
Due: December 15, 2020
Award$1,000 – $50,000
Criteria: Open to seniors  who are either employees of Burger King or are the dependents of employees of Burger King pursuing a traditional post-secondary education.  Must have a minimum 2.50 gpa. Must plan to enroll full time in a 2 or 4 year college or a technical/vocational school  in the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico.

Equitable Excellence Scholarship

Award: $2,500 – $25,000  

Criteria:  Open to seniors planning to attend an accredited 2 or 4year college or university in the U.S. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. Must demonstrate courage, strength and wisdom as shown by community impact through volunteer service.

Rubincam Youth Award 

Due: December 15, 2020

Award:  $500 (for high school students)

Criteria:  Available to students in grades 7-12 or between the ages of 13-18. Applicants must submit a single-line genealogy in a biographical format for five generations.

Chula Vista Elks Lodge Teenager of the Month

Award: Two seniors will be awarded $500 each month (September through April); you can only apply once

Criteria: Must have a GPA of 3.8 or higher, be enrolled in Advanced Placement courses; must demonstrate leadership and community service.

The Little Bundle Supermom Scholarship

Due: December 31, 2020

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Graduating high school senior who will attend a university; must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.  Must be a single mother, child of a single mother, or closely impacted by a single mother.  No GPA requirement.

Naval Resource Officers Training Corps (Navy ROTC) Scholarship

Due: December 31, 2020

Award: Four year scholarship (up to $200,000)\

Criteria: Graduating high school senior at least 17 years old; minimum ACT scores 21 (Math)/22 (English) AND combined score of 47 OR minimum SAT scores 540 (Math)/550 (EBRW) AND combined score of 1150.

Bullying Prevention Scholarship

Due: December 31, 2019

Amount: $1,000

Criteria: The Bullying Prevention Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors. undergraduate, and graduate students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.Application requirements for the Bullying Prevention Scholarship are: Essay. Transcript and Resume 

Additional Information: Provided annually by the Inkelaar Law Firm, the Bullying Prevention Scholarship is awarded to a student who shares creative and original ideas that can reduce bullying in schools and throughout our communities. Selection will favor essays that explain effective methods of bullying prevention that have been successfully implemented as well as ideas that can scale up to be effective at the national level.

Free Speech Essay Contest

Due: December 31, 2020

Criteria:  Open to juniors and seniors. Must submit an essay between 700-900 words on a given topic, “Convince your peers that free speech is a better idea than censorship”.

Due: December 31, 2020 

Award: $1,500

Criteria: Open to grades 9 – 12.  Must be age 14 or older, must be a legal U.S. resident. Must submit an online response to the question: “Create a Top Ten List of the top ten reasons you should get this scholarship” (250 words or less)

Unigo 10K Scholarship 

Due: December 31, 2020 

Award: $10,000

Criteria: Open to grades 9 – 12.  Must be age 14 or older, must be a legal U.S. resident. Must submit an online response to the question: “Imagine a historical figure is brought back to life. Who is it? What’s their favorite mobile app?” (250 words or less)

The Transgender First Scholarship

Award:  $2,500

Criteria: Must be a senior who identifies as transender, must plan to attend a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution, be a U.S. citizen.

The San Diego Foundation Common Scholarship Application

Due: February 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. (PST) 

Amount: Varies by scholarship. $3.3 million in Scholarships were awarded to last year’s graduating class of high school students in the San Diego area. 

Criteria:  Graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students and adult re-entry students who are attending community colleges, four-year universities, career/technical schools, teaching credential programs and graduate, medical or professional schools in the United States. The San Diego Foundation Common Scholarship Application gives San Diego students access to more than 100 scholarships that comprise our Community Scholarship Program by filling out just one application.

Ge-Reagan Foundation Scholarship
Due: January 5 , 2021 ( or until 25,000 applications are submitted, whichever comes first)
Award:  $10,000 (renewable for 4 years)
Criteria: Open to seniors, must be a U.S. citizen and planning to attend a 4-year college or university in the U.S.; must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Must demonstrate leadership, integrity, drive  and citizenship at school, the workplace and in the community.

KIDSWRITE! SD Writing Contest

Due: January 5, 2021

Award: Varies

Criteria: ALL grade levels (ages 6 to 18 years), creative writing contest centered on the theme of freedom.Submission categories are poetry, reflective essay, short story, and graphic novella. Top entries may be published in The San Diego Union Tribune.

Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Scholarship 

Due: January 9, 2021
Award:  20 $20,000 awards ($5,000 for 4 years)
Criteria : Open to senior student-athletes. Must demonstrate exceptional athletic ability and strong leadership skills in  sports, their schools  and within their communities. Must have minimum 3.0 gpa and be a U.S. citizen or legal resident, be 4-year college bound and be active in school sports, intramural sports or community sports. Must not be an employee of Footlocker or a member of the immediate family of a Footlocker employee.

Ron Brown Scholarship

Amount:  $40,000
Criteria: For seniors of Black/African American ancestry. Must excel academically and demonstrate exceptional  leadership potential. Must participate in community service and demonstrate financial need. Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a permanent resident card.

Due: January 14, 2021
Amount:  $2,000 – $20,000
Criteria: Open to seniors of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census; must be a U.S. citizen, must plan to enroll in an accredited 4 year college or university in the U.S. for Fall 2021, must have a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.70 or above, must apply for federal financial aid through the FAFSA for the 2021-2022 school year, must submit 1 letter of recommendation.

Award:  Full tuition (up to $100,000) plus mentorship
Criteria: For seniors with a 3.5 or higher, who is an adopted minor or has been in foster care or who has had one or more parent who has passed away; has a determinable desire to “pay it forward” and be of service to others;  must be a U.S. resident and plan to attend a 4 year college or university; must have no disciplinary record (academic or criminal).

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest
Due: January 15, 2021
AMOUNT:  $100 to $10,000
CRITERIA: Open to high school students grades 9-12 who must  describe and analyze an act of political courage by a US elective official who served during or after 1917.  Essay must be between 700- 1,000 words.  Must be US citizens

Coolidge Scholars
Due: January 20, 2021 at 2 pm Pacific Time
Award:  Full-ride four year merit scholarship
Criteria: Open to JUNIORS who plan to attend an accredited four year university in the U.S. for Fall 2022; must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. The application requires that applicants read President Coolidge’s Autobiography and complete a few other reading assignments.  Candidates should begin the application early so they have plenty of time

Live Mas Scholarship – TACO BELL FOUNDATION
Due: January 20 2021 at 5 pm Pacific Standard Time.
Award: $7 million in Scholarships available to passionate changemakers nationwide
CRITERIA: Open to ages 16-26; must be a US citizen or legal resident of the US, must be on track to apply for 2 or 4 year colleges/university or vocational-technical and trade schools. Must submit a video that tells the story of your real, driving passion. It could be a short film, animation or a simple testimonial. Must be a maximum of 1 minutes in length (minimum of 30 seconds in length) and must be no larger than 100 MB to ensure successful upload to the application.

Point Foundation: College Scholarships

Criteria: Open to high school seniors within the LGBTQ community that have a history of leadership in issues

affecting the LGBTQ community. Candidates should show high academic performance.

CTA Scholarship for Dependent Children
